Some Community House Projects:

The main project is the Athenry Childcare Services supported and funded by Pobal / The Department of Youth and Children Affairs.

We have a Pre-school Service every morning from 9.30am to 12.30pm

We also have an After-school Service for 4 to 12 year olds from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.

There is also a Childcare Parents Association for the Children’s facilities.

We facilitate HomeStart, a support for young families, who have a Mother and Toddler Group once a week.

Home-Start is a voluntary organisation which supports parents with at least one child under the age of five who are experiencing:

  • Difficulty in coping
  • Social isolation/lack of family support network
  • Emotional difficulties associated with demands of childcare

Cullairbaun Estate Residence Association holds its meetings here

We have just finished a 12 weeks sewing group run by the VEC – a great success.

We facilitate the Traveller Movement and they provide information on a range of topics to the local Traveller Community.

We run Cullairbaun Community House Summer Camp funded by GRD each year.

“The Cullairbaun Educational Advantage Project” is a “hands-on approach” to children in an  after school setting. It also entails working with parents in order to help them develop the skills needed  to help their own children progress in the education system.
